How the file size is reached

The image is first drawn at your exact pixel size. The tool then tries different compression levels and keeps the sharpest one that stays under your limit. Sizes use 1 KB = 1024 bytes, the way upload forms and file managers count.

Which format to choose

JPG suits photos and is accepted by almost every form. WebP gives a smaller file at the same quality but some sites reject it. PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so it cannot be compressed to a target size. Use it for logos and screenshots.

Where the photo goes

Nowhere. Resizing and compression run inside your browser, so the tool works offline once loaded and your photo stays on your phone or computer.

How to resize a photo to 50 KB

  1. Tap Choose photo and pick the image from your phone or computer.
  2. Enter the width and height your form asks for, or pick a preset such as 600 × 600.
  3. Under File size, choose 50 KB or type any limit.
  4. Check the result below the preview, then tap Download JPG.

Common questions

Why can't it reach my size limit? Very large dimensions need more data than a small limit allows. Lower the width and height, or turn on Shrink the dimensions if the size can't be reached.

Will the photo lose quality? Only as much as needed. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits under your limit, and when you shrink a large photo the reduction is usually invisible.

Does it work on iPhone and Android? Yes. It runs in any current mobile or desktop browser and needs no app.
